Scalp micropigmentation (also known as “SMP” for short) is essentially a non-surgical specialized cosmetic tattooing procedure for the scalp.

How does Scalp Micropigmentation work?
During the procedure, special SMP ink is placed into the top layers of the scalp, using a special technique to create tiny dots of ink. These “dots” mimic the appearance of realistic hair follicles. Scalp micropigmentation does not cause hair to grow.
Scalp micropigmentation has been around for many years now, but the equipment, supplies, and techniques have drastically improved throughout the years. It is now becoming one of the most popular non-surgical solutions and treatments for permanent hair loss and thinning!
The Scalp Micropigmentation (SMP) procedure is different than traditional tattooing. It uses specialized equipment, needles, and inks that are all custom made specifically for scalp micropigmentation.

Scalp micropigmentation and traditional tattooing also vary in the depth that the pigment is deposited. Traditional tattooing goes very deep into the skin. With scalp micropigmentation, the pigment is deposited very superficially.
Scalp micropigmentation is a layering process and multiple sessions are required. Typically it takes 2-4 sessions of scalp micropigmentation for a complete, full, undetectable and natural look. Sessions vary in length but typically are around 2-4 hours.
Who is Scalp Micropigmentation for?
Scalp micropigmentation can be used to treat a number of different scalp and hair conditions, including hair loss, thinning, balding, scarring, and alopecia.
This treatment is very customizable. The hairline created can be more natural and broken up or it can be more straight-lined. The colours and pigments used can be modified and customized for every skin tone and hair colour.
For someone who has lost a majority or all of their hair, scalp micropigmentation can be used to create a brand new hairline and create a short/stubble hair cut look.
Scalp micropigmentation also is often used to conceal or hide scarring from past trauma or from previous hair transplants.
For someone suffering from hair loss, scalp micropigmentation can give the illusion of thicker, denser, and fuller hair.

Why is Scalp Micropigmentation one of the fastest growing solutions for hair loss?
There are many other treatments for permanent hair loss other than SMP. These include but aren't limited to: surgeries, hair transplants, topical medications, creams, hair pieces, etc. But in our opinion, scalp micropigmentation is one of the best solutions for permanent hair loss!
Benefits of SMP compared to other hair loss treatments:
No surgeries/transplants and is non-invasive. Surgeries and transplants can be quite invasive, with the risk of major scarring and the risk of the transplant not working.
Minimal to zero downtime. Minor redness and swelling is common immediately after your procedure. This typically subsides in a day or two.
Very low risk of side effects. Some medications used for hair loss can have long lasting negative side effects.
Immediate results. You begin to see results even after your first treatment. Your results get better and better with each subsequent session.
Long lasting. Scalp micropigmentation on average will last 4-6 years. It is recommended to get it touched up when needed.
Cost effective. Other hair loss solutions can be costly and in some cases, don’t give any results.
100% safe. All pigments, equipment, and needles used for the scalp micropigmentation are safe.
